Winston-Salem, N.C. – Senior
Lori Crotts (New Castle, Va./Craig County) finished fifth to pace the Radford University women’s cross country team at the 2009 Big South Women’s Cross Country Championships at the Shady Oaks Course.
The Highlanders scored 172 points to finish seventh, just behind UNC Asheville.
Crotts, who was named to the 2009 All-Conference team, turned in stellar performance once again with a time of 18:45.00. In all her prior meets this year, Crotts has placed in the top-10 in all of them.
Freshman
Hannah Scheren (Lovettsville, Va./Loudon Valley) was the next Highlander runner to cross the finish line in 35th place and a time of 20:40.00, while
Brittany Christian (Cary, N.C./Green Hope) finished in 38th place with a time of 20:50.00.
Rounding out the scoring for the Highlanders was
Rachel Travitz (Roanoke, Va./Cave Spring), who finished 44th with a time of 21:22.00 and
Brittany Whittaker (Pilot, Va./Radford), who crossed the finish line with a time of 21:53.00 for 50th place and
Corie Tedesco (Chester, N.J./West Morris Central) who finished 57th.
Christian was honored for her work in the classroom and was named to the 2009 Cross Country All-Academic Team.
