BLACKSBURG, Va -- Radford head coach Brad Greenberg will join Virginia Tech head basketball coach Seth Greenberg and Roanoke College head coach Page Moir for the inaugural Southwest Coaches Tip-off Luncheon presented by Davenport Energy to benefit Coaches vs. Cancer at the Blacksburg Country Club on Nov. 3.
“The luncheon is the beginning of New River and Roanoke Valley basketball Coaches vs. Cancer efforts to raise money and awareness,” Brad Greenberg said. “It's also a chance to talk hoops as we get ready to tip off a new season.”
Tables are available for $150 and the program will include a presentation by the coaches on the upcoming basketball season and a silent auction.
“I am excited that we can come together for a common cause, the battle against cancer,” Seth Greenberg said. “This luncheon will bring awareness and help raise money needed to continue the fight against this disease that has affected everyone in some way.”
Coaches vs. Cancer is a joint effort by the American Cancer Society and the National Association of Basketball Coaches that empowers basketball coaches, their teams and communities to help win the fight against cancer. Coaches vs. Cancer has raised nearly $50 million since its inception to support the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission to eliminate cancer as a life-threatening disease.
“I commend Seth Greenberg for organizing a great event in support of Coaches vs. Cancer,” Page Moir said. “I am proud to partner up with my fellow coaches to raise every dollar we can towards eradicating cancer.”
Patrons can reserve a place at the luncheon by contacting the Virginia Tech men’s basketball office at 540-231-6725.
