“We worked really hard for this (regular season championship) and I am very proud of this group of young ladies,” said head coach Jeff Woods. “After a disappointing finish in 2008, our team was determined and stepped up their play this season. We look forward to and are ready for the challenge the NorPac Tournament presents us.”

The Highlanders finished the regular season with a 5-1 divisional record and 9-9 overall. Since joining the NorPac in 2001, Radford has won divisional championships in 2002, 2004 and now 2009. NorPac divisional play took a hiatus from 2005-08 and returned this season when the conference added UC Davis to form two four-team divisions.

Radford, the only East team to ever play for a NorPac Championship (2003), will open play against UC Davis, the West’s fourth seed, on Thursday, Nov. 5 at 7:00 p.m. EST.
