STANFORD, Calif. – Radford fell to California in the semifinals of the NorPac Tournament, Friday evening from Stanford’s Varsity Turf Field. The Highlanders (10-10) will take on East Division foe Longwood (10-10) in the third place game, scheduled for Saturday, Nov. 7 at 2 p.m. EST.

Cal (8-10) took a 1-0 lead on its first shot of the match in the 20th minute. Erin Magill’s direct shot on a corner got the Bears on the board. Natalie Nurnberg and Deanna Kennedy assisted on the play.
The Highlanders and Bears attempted four shots each in the first half with Cal taking two shots on goal in the half. The Bears held a 5-1 advantage in corners.
The Bears gave themselves and early three-goal cushion in the second half on goals by Kendra Bills and Magill to take a 3-0 lead in the first 3:39 of the second half.
Bills was left all alone after the ball went untouched from the midfield and she hit a reverse stick into the cage just 65 seconds in. Just 2:34 later, Magill converted on another corner getting through the keeper’s five-hole.
Cal out shot Radford 10-6 and had a 9-1 advantage in corners. Sophomore
Marlee Schramm (Mantua, N.J./West Deptford) led the Highlanders with three shots. Junior keeper
Jen Wisniewski (Centreville, Va./Westfield) made three saves.
