Snooks Garners CoSIDA Academic All-District Honors

RADFORD, Va. – Radford hurler Kellie Snooks (Alsip, Ill./Marist) has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III Second Team, the organization announced last week.

Snooks, a pre-med biology major with minors in chemistry and Spanish, sports a 3.72 GPA and was named to the 2009 Big South All-Academic team. A Radford Honors Academy member, the rising junior has been on the Dean’s List every semester as well as being selected to the Big South Presidential Honor Roll. She was also named to the 2008 NFCA All-Academic squad.

In the circle, Snooks finished 2009, 11-6 with a 2.93 ERA and garnered Big South Pitcher of the Week and Pepsi Malahini Kipa Aloha Tournament Most Outstanding Pitcher honors.

The 2009 Big South Champions concluded their season with a 41-15 record and their first appearance in the NCAA Tournament. While at the NCAA Chapel Hill Regional, the Highlanders captured Radford’s first team victory in a NCAA tournament for any sport with a 9-5 victory over Campbell on May 15.
