Track & Field Wraps Up NCAA Regional Competition Saturday

GREENSBORO, N.C. - The men's 4x400 relay team tied a school record and senior Matt Dobson's (Centreville, Va./Chantilly) had a tenth-place hammer throw finish for Radford track & field on the final day of competition at the 2009 NCAA East Regionals, hosted by North Carolina A&T at Irwin Belk Track on Saturday.

In men's 4x400 relay competition, juniors Olajuwon Jones (Indianapolis, Ind./Speedway), Raschad Kelso (Appomattox, Va./Appomattox), senior Jovan Coker (Mechanicsville, Va./Atlee) and freshman Brett Olinger (Timberville, Va./Broadway) tied the school record mark of 3:12.06 set at the 2007 Big South championships.  The team finished 12th overall and first in its section en route to its best time of the season.

Dobson posted Radford's second top-ten finish of regional competition with a throw of 59.15m (194-01), the second-best mark of his collegiate career.
