Dr. James Lebolt

Serving as team orthopedic surgeon for Radford athletics is Dr. James Lebolt. His practice, the
Virginia Sports Medicine & Orthopedic Institute, is located in Christiansburg.
Lebolt's background includes treating athletes from MLB, NFL, and the NBA during a fellowship with renowned orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews of Birmingham, Ala.
A native of Hurricane, W. Va., Lebolt earned his medical degree from the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine in 2001, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Michigan State University working with the Spartan athletic teams in 2006.
His other experience in sports medicine includes intimate work with Virginia Tech, University of Alabama, Jacksonville State University, and the Washington Redskins. Lebolt is published in multiple orthopedic surgery textbooks and journals, and guest lectured on a national level.
